As South Africans eagerly anticipate the upcoming December summer holidays, many are preparing for road trips to their families and vacation destinations. While this season brings joy and the promise of memorable experiences, it also comes with increased congestion on the country’s roads and, regrettably, a surge in road accidents.

The European consumer test organization Euro NCAP has for the first time ever assessed the safety of heavy-duty trucks. Volvos’ best-selling models, the Volvo FH and the Volvo FM, both received the top rating of five stars. The Volvo FM also had the best overall test result among all tested trucks.

Busy traffic situations pose daily safety risks to vulnerable road users. This is why Volvo Trucks is introducing two safety systems focusing on protecting pedestrians and cyclists.
