How it works
As you approach a hill, the truck downloads data from a high resolution commercial topography map accessible online. The information is then used, in a six-step process to maximise the truck’s kinetic energy and reduce your fuel consumption by up to 5%. If the road is not covered by the map, or the connection with the server should fail, the truck will fall back to shared database solution.
Skilled drivers already do this. But if you’re driving a truck for eight hours, you’re not likely to do it in quite the same way. With I-See managing the hills, you can concentrate on other aspects of the drive instead.
Always supported and on the move
The new I-See is improved. Just like before – it uses data about the topography to optimise speed and gear changes. The new I-See primarily uses data from a high-resolution commercial topography map, secondarily it uses data from other I-See users – stored in the cloud. And if the connection should fail, the system uses locally stored data.
It means you will always have access to topography data, get a smoother driving experience and the system is automatically updated without the need to visit a workshop.
