High performance for your needs

The gas-powered powertrain delivers the same performance and torque levels as our diesel engines but with lower emissions. Choose between 420, 460 or 500 hp power ratings with up to 2500 Nm of torque. The Volvo FM gas-powered is a perfect match for regional and long haul transports with up to 60 tonnes GCW.

Gas-powered renewable energy

Our gas-powered heavy-duty trucks can be fueled with renewable bio-LNG (biogas) or LNG (natural gas). The engine also uses a small amount of either renewable HVO or diesel fuel, as well as AdBlue for exhaust aftertreatment. When using bio-LNG and HVO, you can reduce your CO₂ emissions up to 100%*.

* This covers the emissions from the vehicle during long haul driving, the so-called “tank to wheel”, compared to a truck using European standard diesel.

Fit for your operating range

Choose between three different tank sizes to optimise your Volvo FM gas-powered for your needs. You’ll get a range up to 1000 km which makes the truck fit for long haul transports in a growing network of bio-LNG and LNG filling stations.

Energy efficient technology

The Volvo FM gas-powered engines are based on diesel engine technology and this is unique in the heavy-duty truck world. The diesel engine technology offers significantly higher efficiency than other gas engine alternatives. This means higher output, more torque and lower fuel consumption. The bottom line is you’ll get more out of your fuel.
